Artist Interpretation: Ange Moko presents a thoughtful interpretation centered around the wisdom and knowledge (mātauranga) passed down by our ancestors (tūpuna). This artwork is a homage to the invaluable teachings and principles gifted to us, serving as a compass in our contemporary lives. It reminds us to honour and apply this ancient wisdom in our daily endeavours, ensuring that the legacy of our forebears enlightens our path forward.

Materials:
Utilising MDF board and faux leather aho (threads), this panel combines traditional weaving techniques with modern materials to embody the transformative beauty of the paua shell. The circular design, available in two sizes, represents the continuous cycle of growth and discovery.

Dimension Options:

  • Small: 300mm diameter
  • Large: 900mm diameter

Special Note from Ange Moko:
Kia ora! Thank you for choosing this mahi toi (artwork). Each creation is handcrafted with aroha (love), embodying the unique imperfections that signify a human touch. These imperfections are not flaws but rather assurances of your artwork's authenticity and the personal dedication involved in its making.

By bringing this artwork into your space, you're not only adding a piece of aesthetic beauty but also a symbol of life's deeper lessons and the beauty that lies beneath the surface. It's a celebration of resilience, inner strength, and the transformative power of our experiences, inviting reflection and appreciation for the unseen aspects of our journey.
